Brain scans probe the link between sensitive hearing and language skills in rare genetic condition

NCT ID NCT07285720

Summary

This study aims to understand how language develops in people with Williams Syndrome, a rare genetic condition. Researchers will use brain scans (EEG-NIRS) and questionnaires to see if heightened sensitivity to sound plays a key role in their language abilities. The study will compare children and adolescents with Williams Syndrome to those with Down Syndrome and typically developing peers.
