Heart implant offers Blood-Thinner alternative for stroke prevention

NCT ID NCT05565599

Summary

This early study is testing a small heart implant called the Laminar Left Atrial Appendage Closure System. It's designed for people with atrial fibrillation who cannot take long-term blood thinners but still need stroke prevention. The device is placed in the heart to seal off an area where blood clots often form. Researchers will follow 45 participants for 5 years to check safety and how well it works.
