New device could help AFib patients ditch blood thinners

Summary
This early study tests a new device that closes off a small pouch in the heart (the left atrial appendage) in people with atrial fibrillation who cannot take blood thinners. The goal is to reduce the risk of stroke without needing lifelong medication. About 45 participants will be followed to see if the device is safe and works well.
