New heart plug tested to stop strokes without blood thinners

NCT ID NCT07385599

Summary

This is the first human study of an upgraded heart implant called the LAmbre™ II device. It aims to seal off a small pouch in the heart where clots often form in people with a common irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation), to prevent strokes. The study will test the safety and feasibility of this new device in 10 patients who are at high risk for stroke but have reasons to avoid long-term blood-thinning medications.
