Milk protein could be key to safer pain relief for new moms
NCT ID NCT07502235
Summary
This study is testing if lactoferrin, a natural protein found in breast milk, can help manage pain after a cesarean section (C-section). Researchers want to see if adding lactoferrin to standard pain medication can reduce pain levels and the need for opioid painkillers, which can have side effects. The trial will involve 90 women having planned C-sections, who will receive either lactoferrin or a placebo pill alongside their usual care.
