First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking a daily probiotic (lactobacillus) supplement can reduce symptoms of overactive bladder in women. Overactive bladder causes a sudden, frequent urge to urinate and affects about 13% of older women. Researchers will compare the probiotic to a placebo over 6 months, tracking symptom changes and the bacteria in the urinary tract.
