Gentler pushing method tested for safer births
NCT ID NCT03018860
Summary
This study compared two different approaches to pushing during the final stage of labor. Researchers wanted to see if a more moderate pushing method (pushing less frequently with no time limit) is safer for babies and mothers than the standard intensive method (pushing more frequently with a 30-minute time limit). The trial involved 1,701 first-time mothers with epidurals to measure effects on baby health, delivery methods, and mother satisfaction.
