New combo could lower painkiller dose during childbirth

Summary

This study tests whether adding different doses of dexmedetomidine to a standard epidural painkiller (bupivacaine) can safely relieve labor pain while using less bupivacaine. About 140 women in early labor will receive the combination. The goal is to improve pain control and reduce side effects.
