New labor chart aims to help more moms avoid unplanned C-Sections
NCT ID NCT06537089
Summary
This study tested two different charts used by doctors and nurses to monitor labor progress in first-time mothers. The goal was to see if using a newer chart, called the WHO Labour Care Guide, was better than an older, modified chart at helping women have a vaginal birth instead of an unplanned cesarean section. Researchers compared the outcomes for 230 healthy, first-time mothers in active labor to see which monitoring tool led to fewer C-sections.
