Could a simple tug shorten labor? study tests balloon technique

NCT ID NCT03588585

Summary

This study aimed to see if applying gentle tension to a small balloon catheter placed in the cervix helps shorten the time to delivery during labor induction. It compared the 'tension' method to the standard 'no tension' method in first-time mothers. The goal was to find a safer, more comfortable way to help the cervix prepare for labor. The trial was stopped early and did not complete enrollment.
