Finding the better path to birth: skipping a step may speed delivery
NCT ID NCT04949633
Summary
This study aims to find the best way to help women give birth when their labor is induced and their cervix hasn't softened enough after 24 hours of initial treatment. It will compare two common approaches: giving the hormone oxytocin to start contractions versus repeating a cervix-softening treatment with prostaglandins. The goal is to see if using oxytocin directly is just as safe (not leading to more C-sections) and can lead to a faster delivery for the 1,494 participants.
