New hope for tough leukemia: experimental drug combo aims for remission

Summary
This study tests a new drug, L-Annamycin, combined with standard chemotherapy (cytarabine) in adults whose acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has returned or not responded to one prior treatment. The goal is to see if the combination can achieve complete remission (no signs of cancer) better than placebo plus cytarabine. About 312 participants will be enrolled across multiple centers.
