New lupus drug shows promise in early trial

Summary
This early-stage study tested a new drug called KZR-616 for people with lupus, including those with kidney inflammation (lupus nephritis). The drug was given as a weekly injection under the skin for 13 or 24 weeks, in addition to patients' standard lupus medications. The main goals were to check the drug's safety and see if it could reduce protein in the urine, a key sign of kidney damage.
