New pill tested to ease debilitating period pain

NCT ID NCT01588236

Summary

This study tested an investigational drug called KYG0395 to see if it could safely reduce the pain and number of painful days from menstrual cramps. It involved 280 otherwise healthy women with severe cramps, who were randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo pill. Researchers measured changes in pain levels over several menstrual cycles to find the most effective and safe dose.
