First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This early-stage trial tests a new vaccine called KSD-101 in 55 people with relapsed or refractory EBV-associated blood cancers. The vaccine is designed to train the immune system to attack cancer cells infected with the Epstein-Barr virus. The main goals are to check safety and see if the vaccine can shrink tumors or improve quality of life.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

KSD-101 (dendritic cell vaccine)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could point toward a new treatment option for patients with EBV-related blood cancers that have not responded to standard therapy.

What could go wrong

This is a very early Phase 1 trial with only 55 participants, so safety and effectiveness are not yet known. The vaccine may not shrink tumors or improve survival, and side effects are possible.
