Blood product tested to heal numbness after knee surgery
NCT ID NCT07257666
Summary
This study tested whether applying a concentrated healing product made from a patient's own blood (platelet-rich fibrin) to the knee surgery site could reduce long-term numbness. It involved 53 competitive male athletes who had surgery to repair a torn knee ligament. The main goal was to see if using this product led to fewer patients experiencing numbness around their knee one year after surgery.
