New knee pain block could speed recovery after surgery

NCT ID NCT07080892

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to manage pain after knee replacement surgery. Researchers are comparing two different injection techniques (called iPACK blocks) that numb the back of the knee without affecting leg muscle strength. In a study with 120 patients, they will measure which technique provides better pain relief and reduces the need for opioid painkillers during the first day after surgery.
