New nerve block combo aims to ease agony after knee surgery

NCT ID NCT07191964

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a specific, simpler nerve block to the standard pain control plan helps reduce pain after total knee replacement. It will involve 90 adults aged 45-90 who are having the surgery. Researchers will compare pain levels, opioid use, and recovery between two groups: one receiving the full set of nerve blocks and one receiving a sham version of the new block.
