Numbing the knee before surgery: a new way to cut pain and opioid use?

NCT ID NCT06942702

Summary

This study is testing if a pain-blocking injection given before knee replacement surgery helps reduce pain and the need for strong opioid painkillers afterward. Researchers will compare two groups of 44 patients: one gets the nerve block, the other does not. Both groups will receive standard pain medication after surgery to see if the pre-surgery block makes a difference.
