First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding a genicular nerve block to a standard femoral nerve block improves pain control after total knee replacement. 80 adults scheduled for knee surgery were randomly assigned to receive either the femoral block alone or both blocks. Researchers measured pain scores and how much extra pain medicine patients needed in the first 24 hours after surgery.
