First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether following specific clinical guidelines for treating patellofemoral pain (pain around the kneecap) works better than usual physical therapy. About 440 active-duty military members will be randomly assigned to one of two therapy groups. Researchers will track knee function, pain, and confidence in duty tasks over 12 months to see which approach leads to better outcomes.
