Scientists link teen athlete knee pain to weak core and tight hips

NCT ID NCT07326046

Summary

This study aimed to understand what causes knee pain in teenage track athletes. Researchers compared 75 athletes, some with knee pain and some without, measuring their knee alignment, core strength, hip flexibility, and overall leg function. They found that athletes with knee pain had weaker core muscles, tighter hips, and different knee alignment, suggesting the problem involves the whole body, not just the knee.
