This study looked at 88 recreational athletes aged 50-70 with knee osteoarthritis who had not responded to standard pain medications. Researchers compared a single injection of cross-linked hyaluronic acid to two injections of straight-chain hyaluronic acid. The goal was to see which better reduced pain, stiffness, and improved knee function over 6 months.
