New stitch aims to save damaged knee cartilage

NCT ID NCT04361487

Summary

This study tested a new surgical tool, the NOVOSTITCH PRO, designed to stitch and repair two specific types of complex tears in the knee's shock-absorbing cartilage (meniscus). It aimed to see if repairing these tears is better for the knee in the long run than simply cutting out the damaged piece. The study followed 33 patients for two years after their surgery, checking if the repair held up and how their knee function improved.
