Scientists track knee antibiotics to fight recurring infections

NCT ID NCT07299565

Summary

This study aims to better understand how well antibiotics work inside the knee after surgery for a severe joint replacement infection. Researchers will closely monitor antibiotic levels and inflammation in the knee joint of 30 patients for two weeks after their initial surgery. The goal is to see if these local antibiotic levels are linked to the patient's recovery and whether the infection comes back within a year.
