New drug aims to stop repeat infections in artificial knees
NCT ID NCT07214311
Summary
This study is testing if a new drug called PLG0206 can help prevent a painful joint infection from coming back after knee replacement surgery. About 240 adults who have an infected artificial knee and are undergoing a specific cleaning procedure will receive either the study drug or a placebo during surgery. Researchers will monitor participants for one year to see if the drug reduces the chance of the infection returning.
