Sleep vs. numb: which anesthesia gets you home faster after joint surgery?

NCT ID NCT07334132

Summary

This study aims to find out which type of anesthesia helps patients go home the same day after knee or hip replacement surgery. Researchers will compare putting patients fully to sleep (general anesthesia) versus numbing just the lower body (spinal anesthesia). They will follow 600 patients for a year to see which method leads to a smoother, faster recovery with fewer complications.
