First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding stem cells to a standard knee repair procedure (microfracture) improves healing of cartilage injuries. 80 adults with small knee cartilage defects will receive either PRP alone or PRP plus stem cells during arthroscopic surgery. Researchers will track pain, knee function, and safety over several years to see which approach works better.
