Hormone experiment aims to jumpstart ovulation in women

NCT ID NCT07224438

Summary

This study is testing whether a natural hormone called kisspeptin can help women with hypothalamic amenorrhea (absent periods due to brain signaling issues) release eggs and restore their menstrual cycles. Twenty women aged 18-45 will receive kisspeptin via a small pump under the skin for two weeks. Doctors will monitor hormone levels and use ultrasounds to see if the treatment stimulates egg development and ovulation.
