Hormone discovery offers new hope for rare fertility disorder

NCT ID NCT04648969

Summary

This study tested whether giving pulses of a hormone called kisspeptin could help restart the body's natural hormone production in adults with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (HH), a condition where the brain doesn't properly signal the reproductive system. Eighteen participants received kisspeptin injections over two days while researchers measured hormone levels in their blood. The goal was to see if this approach could become a new treatment option for this hormone disorder.
