First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study compared two treatments—kinesio taping and the Graston technique (a scraping method)—for easing delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), the pain and stiffness felt 24-72 hours after intense exercise. Thirty healthy adults were split into three groups: one got taping, one got Graston, and one got no treatment. Researchers measured muscle oxygen levels, strength, reaction time, and pain before and 48 hours after exercise to see which approach worked best.
