Summary
This study tests whether applying kinesio tape to the lower back can quickly improve shoulder pain and flexibility in people with subacromial impingement syndrome. Six adults with chronic shoulder pain will receive either real or sham taping, and effects are measured after 45 minutes. The goal is to see if this simple technique offers fast relief.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- kinesio taping
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a simple, non-drug way to ease shoulder pain and improve movement for people with impingement syndrome.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small, early study with only 6 people, so results may not apply widely. The taping effect is measured after just 45 minutes, so long-term benefits are unknown.
