Taping away period pain: simple sticker shows promise
NCT ID NCT06990815
First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looked at whether kinesio taping (a special elastic tape placed on the skin) can quickly ease pain and other symptoms of period cramps. Twenty-four women aged 18-24 with painful periods were randomly assigned to get either real kinesio tape or a fake sham tape. Researchers measured pain, menstrual symptoms, fear of movement, and sleep quality right after the taping to see if the real tape worked better.
