Could teacher training stop unnecessary ADHD diagnoses?
NCT ID NCT05142826
Summary
This study tested a program to help kindergarten teachers better understand and support children who are the youngest in their class. Researchers wanted to see if training teachers about age differences could prevent these children from being misdiagnosed with ADHD or prescribed medication simply because they act their age. The program taught teachers to adjust their expectations and use positive support strategies.
