Tiny patch aims to soothe Kids' surgery fears

NCT ID NCT07168720

Summary

This study is testing a new skin patch with tiny needles to deliver a calming medicine (dexmedetomidine) to children before surgery. Researchers want to see if the patch is safe, how well it works to relax children, and how the medicine moves through their bodies. The trial will include 64 children aged 2 to 6 who are scheduled for a procedure requiring general anesthesia.
