Could a slightly warmer cooler save more transplanted kidneys?

NCT ID NCT07385651

Summary

This study is testing if storing kidneys from deceased donors at 10°C (50°F) instead of the usual 4°C (on ice) helps them work better after being transplanted. Researchers will compare the two storage methods in 30 adult patients receiving a kidney transplant. The goal is to reduce a common complication where the new kidney is slow to start working, which can lead to better long-term outcomes for patients.
