Can a new genetic test predict kidney transplant failure?

NCT ID NCT07269275

Summary

This study looked at whether a new, more detailed way of checking genetic compatibility between a kidney donor and recipient can help predict if the transplant will fail in the long run. Researchers analyzed data from over 5,500 adult kidney transplant patients to see if this new 'eplet' matching method provides useful information beyond the standard tests doctors already use. The goal is to see if this tool could one day help doctors better monitor patients and keep transplanted kidneys working longer.
