First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study compares two common treatments for kidney stones located in the lower part of the kidney: retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) and extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL). About 66 adults with stones up to 1.5 cm will be randomly assigned to one treatment. The goal is to see which method clears stones more completely and with fewer side effects like infection or blood in urine.
