Summary
This study aimed to find out how common chronic kidney disease is in teenagers who had surgery to fix a heart defect when they were children. Researchers enrolled 120 patients aged 10-15 years for a single check-up. They collected blood and urine samples to screen for kidney problems and looked back at medical records to see if events around the time of the original surgery were linked to later kidney issues.
