New hope for protecting kidneys in serious autoimmune attack

Summary

This study is testing a new drug called ALE.F02 to see if it can help protect and preserve kidney function in people with a serious autoimmune disease called ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV), which attacks the body's small blood vessels, especially in the kidneys. Researchers will compare adding different doses of the drug to standard treatment against a placebo (inactive substance) to see if it is safe and if it helps the kidneys. The study will involve about 80 adults who were recently diagnosed with rapidly worsening kidney inflammation from this condition.
