Nerve-Zapping treatment could control blood pressure without daily pills

NCT ID NCT06783296

Summary

This study is testing if a one-time procedure called renal denervation can safely lower high diastolic blood pressure. The procedure uses a catheter to disrupt nerves near the kidneys that help regulate blood pressure. Researchers will compare the real procedure against a sham (fake) procedure in 124 adults who have not yet taken blood pressure medication. The main goal is to see if the treatment lowers blood pressure over 6 months and allows people to avoid daily pills.
