Simple urine test could predict who needs kidney dialysis

NCT ID NCT06765031

Summary

This study is testing whether a simple 'stress test' for the kidneys can help doctors predict which intensive care patients with early-stage acute kidney injury will get worse. Researchers will give patients a standard diuretic medication and measure their urine output over two hours. The goal is to see if this test can accurately identify patients who are likely to progress to severe kidney failure and need dialysis, helping doctors make better treatment decisions.
