Scientists test skin sensor to see how kidneys handle a protein boost

NCT ID NCT07335614

Not yet recruiting Knowledge-focused Sponsor: MediBeacon Source: ClinicalTrials.gov ↗

Summary

This study aims to understand how a high-protein meal affects kidney function, using a new skin sensor instead of traditional blood tests. Researchers will recruit 25 adults with reduced kidney function to wear the sensor, eat a protein meal, and have their kidney response measured over several hours. The goal is to see if this new method can reliably measure the kidney's hidden capacity to work harder when needed.
