New Finger-Prick test could better predict when kidney patients need dialysis

NCT ID NCT07450534

Summary

This study aims to see if a new way to measure kidney function is better than current methods at predicting when people with advanced kidney disease will develop symptoms and need to start dialysis. It will involve 150 adults with severe kidney disease, some already on dialysis. Participants will receive a simple injection and then take four finger-prick blood samples at home over 24 hours to test the new method.
