New drug targets genetic cause of kidney damage

Summary
This study is testing an investigational drug called MZE829 in adults with chronic kidney disease who have a specific high-risk genetic type (APOL1). The main goals are to see if the drug is safe and if it can reduce the amount of protein leaking into the urine, which is a sign of kidney damage. About 56 participants will take the drug and be monitored for 12 weeks.
