New device aims to make dialysis easier for kidney patients

NCT ID NCT02119845

Summary

This small study tested a medical device designed to create a better connection for dialysis treatment in patients with advanced kidney disease. Researchers wanted to see if the device was safe and effective at creating what's called an arteriovenous fistula, which is a surgical connection between an artery and vein used for dialysis. The trial involved 16 adults with late-stage kidney disease who needed regular dialysis treatments.
