New dosing schedule could improve sickle cell treatment for kids

Summary
This study looks at whether giving hydroxycarbamide twice a day works better than once a day for children with sickle cell disease. About 50 children aged 9 months to 11 years will take the medicine every day for 12 months. Researchers will measure drug levels in the blood and check for safety and effectiveness.
