New approach aims to cut opioid use for kids after heart surgery

NCT ID NCT04040452

Summary

This study is testing if giving a non-opioid pain medicine (ketorolac) as a continuous drip is better at reducing the need for strong opioid painkillers than giving it as separate shots. It involves children aged 3 months to 4 years who have had heart surgery. The goal is to find a safer way to manage pain that avoids the risks of heavy opioid use.
