Newborn pain study pulled before it began

NCT ID NCT01667120

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study planned to test whether a pain medicine called ketorolac is safe and effective for newborns up to 3 months old after abdominal surgery. The goal was to see if it could reduce the need for stronger narcotic painkillers. However, the study was withdrawn before any babies were enrolled, so no results are available.
