Can a ketone drink clear ICU brain fog?

NCT ID NCT07364162

First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This early study tests whether a special ketone drink is safe and practical for ICU patients experiencing delirium—a state of sudden confusion and trouble thinking clearly. About 40 adults in the ICU will receive either the ketone drink or a placebo. The goal is to see if the drink can reduce delirium or shorten how long it lasts, potentially improving long-term recovery.
